What We Believe

  • We believe that there is one living God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; equal in power and in glory, upholding and governing all. (1 John 5:7; Genesis 1:26; Isaiah 9:6)

The Father – We believe God the Father is eternal, omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent. God is absolutely holy, righteous, and just. His love and mercy were manifested in the atoning death of His only begotten Son on Calvary (Psalm 90:2; Psalm 147:5; Psalm 22:3; John 3:16).

The Son – We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His sufferings and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory. (John 1:1,14, 20:28; 1 Timothy 3:16; 1 Timothy 2:5)

The Holy Spirit – We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person; convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; is the supernatural agent of God in the regeneration of the lost; indwells in all believers, sealing them in the body of Christ unto the day of redemption; and is the divine teacher who guides believers into all truth (John 16:5-15). With our agreement and partnership, He works within the lives of believers bestowing supernatural gifts (1 Corinthians 12:4-11) as well as bearing the fruit of God’s nature through us (Galatians 5:22-23).

  • The Holy Bible is our all-sufficient rule for faith and practice. We believe that the 39 books of the Old Testament and the 27 books of the New Testament are inspired by God (2 Timothy 3:16), that they are inerrant and infallible in their original writings, and that they are the supreme and final authority for faith and practice. (Matthew 5:17-19)

  • We believe that man was originally created in the image of God, but the whole race of man was separated from God because of sin (Genesis 1-3; Isaiah 59:2). We believe that no man can reconcile himself with God and thereby gain entrance to His Kingdom unless and until he is born again by the Holy Spirit. (John 3:3; Romans 3:21-28; Galatians 2:16)

We believe that salvation is a free gift of God by grace alone and reserved through repentance and personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation is received through repentance towards God, confession by mouth, and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 10:9)

We believe that in the atoning work of the cross, we were forgiven of all sins, made righteous before God, healed from all sickness, and delivered from all spiritual torment, and that this is made available for all who would believe. Praying for the sick is emphasized in the New Testament as well as the casting out of demons, and it is the duty of the Church to practice it. (Isaiah 53:4-6; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Matthew 10:8)

We believe in the second coming of Jesus Christ; that He will return to judge all people and to reign as Eternal King. All who did believe will dwell eternally with Him, as well as receive a reward for their faithfulness. All who did not believe will suffer separation from God forever. (Matthew 25:31-46; 1 Corinthian 3:13-15)

  • We believe that heaven and hell are real places. There will be a resurrection of the lost and the saved, the one to everlasting death and the other to everlasting life. (John 14:2; Revelation 21:8)

  • We believe that the church is the Body of Christ on earth and is to carry out the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19). Each believer, born of the Spirit, is an integral part of the church. There is a spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Head of the Church. (Ephesians 1:22-23, 2:22; Hebrews 12:23; John 17:11)

  • We believe that baptism in water shall be by immersion in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and shall be administered to all who believe in Jesus Christ. (Mark 16:16; Matthew 28:19; Acts 10:47-48; Romans 6:4)

  • We believe that the Lord’s Supper is to be observed by all believers. Each participant should examine himself/herself before partaking. It is a memorial of our Lord’s sufferings and death which will be observed until He returns. (1 Corinthians 11:23-32)

  • We believe the baptism of the Holy Spirit is the promise of the Father available to all Christians. The Holy Spirit was sent by Jesus after His ascension to empower the Church to preach the gospel throughout the whole earth. In Scripture, the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is accompanied by speaking in tongues, an unknown prayer language. (Joel 2:28-29; Matthew 3:11; Mark 16:17; Acts 1:5,2:1-4, 17, 38-39, 8:14-17, 10:38, 44-47, 11:15-17, 19:1-6)

  • The Scripture teaches that without holiness no man can see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14). We believe in the Doctrine of Sanctification as a definite, yet progressive work of grace, commencing at the time of regeneration and continuing until the consummation of salvation at Christ’s return. (1 Thessalonians 5:23; 1 Corinthians 1:30; 2 Corinthians 3:16-17; Philippians 3:12-14)

  • We believe that God our Creator established marriage as a sacred institution between one man and one woman; marriage is a covenant only between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:18-25; Matthew 19:4-6). God’s original design for marriage is the only marriage that will be recognized or accepted.

We believe that God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16). Divorce is contrary to the principles of marriage and its original institution by God. The members should refrain from divorce except due to situations as described in scripture. (Matthew 5:32; 1 Corinthians 7:15)

The Apostles Creed

We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one being with the Father.
Through Him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
He came down from heaven:

by the power of the Holy Spirit
He became incarnate from the Virgin Mary,
and was made man.

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
He suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father [and the Son].
With the Father and the Son
He is worshipped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come.

Amen.

To carry the presence of God in love, power, and truth everywhere we go.
